My friend Eric Jacobsen put me in touch with a couple of designer friends of his, Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman, who needed help with a new project. The website that would become the world-famous 40 Days of Dating needed a copy editor, and I was happy to be of service.
It was only a few days into the project when it became clear what a success 40 Days of Dating was going to become. Since its launch, the two principals have been appeared on The Today Show have been interviewed by Cosmopolitan magazine, and written about by countless other media outlets. Over 5 million people have visited the site, and the movie rights to the project have been acquired by Warner Brothers.
Officially, I was the copy editor on 40 Days of Dating, but I did a fair amount of copywriting and consultation, as well. The entire project happened on the tightest possible schedule. Each individual entry was submitted to me around 7 p.m. every day, and had to be ready for publication the next morning.
